Childhood friends

Childhood friends
This weekend I was lucky enough to do brunch with my girls and their childhood friends. The girls have known these boys since they were 14 years old. They were always at our house and so glad to say they still are.
It warms my heart to think that hopefully they will continue to have these friendships for years to come. I know how important this is as I have had friends since childhood. Friends I’ve had since I was 5 years old. Now I’m not talking about Facebook friends, I’m talking about friends I talk to every week or go to see often. These are ride or die friends that bring back a host of incredible memories throughout years of friendship.
If you are lucky enough to have friends like this you are truly blessed. There is nothing like the feeling of saying remember when and that person takes you right back to that place and time.
Childhood memories no one else could ever understand or appreciate. You know, “the, you had to be there”  stories we all have.
These people shaped your life, they know the true you, the one that they loved no matter what dumb shit you did. These are the family you choose for yourself.
These are your lifelong friends.
So today my friends, if you haven’t spoken to that special person in a while, pick up that phone, call them today, and get transported back in time. Life is too short, we may not have tomorrow, so do it now. The one thing I never want is regret, I always let my loved ones know how much I love and appreciate them. I will leave dishes and dirty clothes to spend time with them. I am so grateful for these friendships and I want to continue to make memories with them.
Put your phone down and make some memories with friends today.
