Experiencing the world

Experiencing the world

If you follow me you know that I love to travel and I have passed this gene down to my girls as well.

This past weekend I was blessed to go to Mexico with my oldest. We have been to Mexico many times and this time just wanted to chill at the all inclusive resort on the beach. This gave us an opportunity to really interact and meet new friends from all over the world.

The first people we met were New Yorkers, of course! Somehow we are always drawn to each other. But we also met a couple from London, a family from New Jersey, a guy from Idaho and of course the amazing staff there who were wonderful.

Sitting in the pool, just talking, drinking and laughing, you get to know so much about people, other cultures and honestly what foreigners think of our country. It was truly eye opening, and a lesson we all need to experience when we travel.

Travel opens you up to new people, new cultures, new foods and gives you a broader perspective of not just your small part of the world but the bigger world. We are not here to collect things but to collect memories, to collect experiences that will last a lifetime. Because when your last days come you won’t be thinking about how many designer handbags you owned but of the wonderful memories you had throughout your life.

Two of the Jersey people live by us in Miami and we will be hanging out with them when we get home. See not only did we get an experience, we got new friends out of this as well. I have met people on past trips that are still my friends to this day, we traveled to other places together and visited each other afterwards. These are the experiences that make life worth living.

So today my friends remember life is too short, don’t stay stuck in your bubble, not stepping out of your comfort zone, experience life!

And for those of you that say you can’t afford to travel, stay tuned to my next blog when I break it down to you how you too can travel on a budget.

Like I say all the time, live life large because if covid taught us anything is that life is too short not to experience all the amazing places this world has to offer.
