Dating app stats

If you are single nowadays you know how many dating websites and apps that are out there now. It’s now a normal thing to use online dating to meet someone.

I was surprised to hear that there are 40 million Americans using online dating websites and those users range from young to old.

Today, 27% of young adults report using online dating sites, which is up 10% from 2013. This is likely due to the influx of dating apps on smartphones and how accessible it is for people. For those that are 55 to 64-year-old that use online dating, there has been a 6% increase from 2013 to 2015.

Men make up 52.4% of online dating users compared to 47.6% who are women.

In one study it says, men spend 65 percent more time looking at the pictures in the profile than women do.

No duh! I Didn’t need a study for that one. I know personally that men don’t read your profile because I am very clear in mine and yet still get dick pics. That’s a whole nother blog.

What happened to the old days when friends set you up, or you met organically at the gym or grocery store? Are we so busy that we no longer have time or is it that we are so stuck with our noses in our phones we no longer pay attention?

Maybe it’s like television we have too many choices and then say there is nothing on. We have too many choices, and we are quick to swipe left or just play games to see how many people we can catch just to occupy our time.

So many guys out there think it’s a numbers game, hey if I send my nasty dick pic to a hundred women at least one will want all of this 4 inch manhood.

I don’t know what is going on in online dating anymore.

I do know that a small share of Americans say they have been in a committed relationship with or married someone they met through a dating site or app. About one-in-ten U.S. adults say this (12%), though these shares are higher among LGB adults, as well as those ages 18 to 49.

Americans who have used a dating site or app in the past year say their recent experience left them feeling more frustrated (45%) than hopeful (28%).

Yup, these are the facts and yet we still use them.

So today my friends remember dating today is all a state of mind. You may be lucky enough to find your Prince even if you may have to kiss a lot, a lot of frogs, trust me I know. But if you are like me and you keep an open mind, if you keep the faith that there are some good men out there and you laugh about the bad dates or like I do, blog about them, this will keep you sane in this crazy world of online dating.

Don’t give up because you never know, you might just find love against all odds.
