If I die tomorrow

If I die tomorrow

I know many people don’t like to talk about this subject but we must. One of my mother’s favorite sayings was don’t bring flowers to my grave. I want to smell them when I am alive.

Do you know I gave my mom flowers every Friday and when I moved 1500 miles away, I ordered them and had them sent every Friday.

I told and showed my mom every day how much I loved and appreciated her. I tell my girls and all of my friends and family that I love them everytime I speak to them. I want them to know how much they mean to me, now.

I always want to live my life to the fullest. I love traveling and have many friends all over the country that I visit. I want to try new things, like my rock climbing date even though I am so afraid of heights. I want to be that 80 year old doing triathlons, dancing all the time, laughing and enjoying every single day.

But if I am taken home tomorrow, I am good with that as well. I have no regrets, I have lived my first half and my last half of my life the way I chose. I may have not done too well in the middle half but these were lessons I needed to learn and to grow. I wouldn’t have become the person I am today without the pain and bad times. But it’s not what you’ve been through, it’s where you come out.

I don’t have any I wish.. any I should haves…I am going screeching into my grave screaming what a frigging ride! And when I go I want my friends and family to have a huge party complete with Jamaican food and tequila shots and lots of music, laughter and funny stories of my life. I want them to celebrate my life as much as I did while I was alive.

So today my friends remember life is short, how do you want to live it? What if this amazing ride was over tomorrow? Would you have regrets? What would you change? If anything rings true in this statement you still have a choice today, to choose to live your best life now. And like I say at the end of every blog…only you can be the change you want to.
