Web of make believe
So this weekend I was watching the Netflix series Web of make believe and I couldn’t believe I was watching something that wasn’t made up. This sounded like a movie not a real life story.
If you don’t know or haven’t seen it, it’s a eye opener to what is going on in the head of youths today and the make believe world that they are living in. These gamers live in their own reality of killing and taking revenge on other players by “swatting” people. I never heard of this term before but apparently “swatting” is when a gamer calls the police and lies about an incident to get the Swat team to go to their homes.
In this case Tyler Barris did this and Swat went to the wrong house and ended up killing an innocent man in front of his family. He got 20 years behind bars for doing this. This apparently is a thing that costs our local government upwards of 20k everytime this is done. Besides the fact of this tragic accident that could happen again.
I don’t understand this generation living in a fantasy world, with their fantasy of killing people. These same kids that wouldn’t last a minute in a real war. They are so caught up in these games enough to try to get someone out by pulling a stunt like this to another “player”
Seriously what is wrong with these people. Most of these gamers were in their 20s with no job, sitting home in their parents basements playing video games all day and night. My question is what’s wrong with the parents. My parents and when I had my girls said your 18, either get a job or get out. That was your two choices period.
You weren’t going to sit home and live off them doing nothing until your 30.
But in today’s world so many parents want to be “friends” with their children and don’t ever discipline them. They are incapable of being useful human beings, they have no consequences.
So today my friends, we need to do better, we need to be tougher with our children. We need to teach them what the real world is really like because this poor family lost their loved one over a make believe game in a fantasy world.
