All that I am grateful for

All that I am thankful for

As Thanksgiving is approaching I wanted to give thanks before it comes.
I haven’t wanted to do Thanksgiving for the last 5 years, so I’ve taken off on vacation. I decided that I didn’t need the added stress so we took off and did not do a traditional Thanksgiving.

This year I have friends coming to town from my hometown and other places, so we all decided to stay home and have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner together. And I needed to write about what I am truly thankful for even before the “day”

I am lucky enough to spend time with my girls and that they still want to spend this time with me. I am thankful for my girls, as much as they sometimes piss me off, they are good girls, with big hearts and they are what I live for. They are my heart and soul and I am so proud of the women they have become.

I am truly thankful for God, for without him none of this would be possible. I know his grace and mercy over my life has kept me, even though at times I know I didn’t deserve it.

I am thankful for my church, my Bishop and my church family. God knew what he was doing when he sent me there, as they have literally saved my life. They have been there for me whenever I needed anything, this year I needed help feeding my open house and of course they came through with the Turkey. They support and love me no matter what. For me it is his word that comes from my Bishop that keeps me going.

I am thankful for my friends and my family, as I am blessed to have an amazing support system around me. I know I can count on them and they can count on me in good times and bad. I know that I can truly be me and they will love me no matter what. And looking around my table at all of them, I know what unconditional love is and I know that I am truly blessed.

I am thankful for God’s favor over my life, for our health and all that I have. I am thankful he gave me this business, this home and that he continues to place favor all over our lives.

I am thankful for the lessons God has taught me this year, even though some of them were so painful. I know I had to learn them. I had to learn that not everyone comes for the whole ride, as much as you wanted them to. I learned that life could change on a dime, like with my church husband’s passing. I have learned not to judge, who am I to judge? I messed up enough in my life, so I forgive and moved on.

I am thankful for the pain I’ve had in the past and for falling in love with the wrong men, over and over. It has taught me what I deserve and when the Prince came into my life, I knew what a good man looked like, even though he may have not been my forever love. He taught me to love myself, to know my worth and to know how a real man is supposed to treat me and for that I am eternally grateful.

I am thankful for all the hard work I’ve done because it makes me know my strength and it makes me appreciate all I have that much more.

I am thankful for the storms, the dark moments that tested my faith because without them I wouldn’t know my strength, or my commitment to God and my faith. Even though the storms were sometimes bad and really painful. I learned to hold on even to a tiny mustard seed size of faith and to know that God has me and he will pull me through just like he always has.

I am thankful for learning to live in the moment, leaving the dishes, enjoying time I could never get back with the people I love.

I am thankful for letting go of fear, for stepping into the unknown and doing things I might not have done otherwise…life changing things, like walking on fire!

And I am truly thankful for the gift of gratitude. I am so very grateful for everything I have in my life, there is not a day that goes by that I am not overwhelmed by all I have. The peace, joy, and gratefulness I now have in my life is so overwhelming that it brings me to tears constantly.

So today my friends, remember all that you have, be grateful and thankful for it, not just on Thanksgiving but throughout the year because life is too short and you never know what can happen tomorrow…live in the moment…laugh often, love big…live life large and forever be grateful.
