Here’s a pill for that

Recently I wrote a blog about the side effects of Xanax. Today I want to talk about how quick it is to just go to your doctor and ask him about some drugs. You know the drugs you see on television that the pharmaceutical companies paid millions of dollars to get out there. Just so you could ask your doctor if you think you need that drug. Hello! Who’s the doctor? You or the pharmaceutical companies?

I remember when I had my 2nd child, I had postpartum depression and the doctor was quick to say here’s a prescription. But always being a healthy person, I’m not just taking medicine even if it’s from a doctor.

I decided to research it, but too bad it was after I filled the prescription. I found out that this pill has so many side effects, more than the issues that I was having. I decided that this was not for me and I threw the prescription away. I did what I normally do when I’m stressed, I exercised more. I went out in nature, I spent time with myself writing, I prayed, I went to church, and I found an all-natural pill that would help me, and then I saw a therapist.

The same thing happened recently when my cholesterol was a little high, right away my doctor wanted to put me on a statin. I said no, no, no, we’re gonna try it naturally. So again I started researching, then I started exercising more, eating Cheerios, and even started eating oatmeal (which I hate)
I started taking fish oil and watching what I eat even more closely. I’m not going to be put on some pill that later on they’re gonna tell me has this side effect or that side effect.

Look at over the years how many pills were the “wonder drugs” and then all of a sudden had class action lawsuits against them? How many people were dying from the drugs or getting cancer from them? People had worse side effects than they already started with.

The government and the pharmaceutical companies couldn’t care less about us.
The only thing that they care about is making money. Even the doctors don’t care about our health, they are in and out in 3 minutes when you wait to see them for over an hour. The doctors are getting kickbacks on these prescriptions and these very prescriptions that are supposed to make us healthy are making people become drug addicts.
People are dependent on these drugs, they are addicted to these drugs just as they would be if they stuck a needle in their arm.

We need to stand up and be our advocates, our own doctors. We need to research, we need to look at Western medicine. We need to try other things before we start blindly taking these medications.
I know people will say “Well they are FDA approved which is BS! Because so many things that were “approved” turned out they are now recalled, they cause cancer, and they have worse side effects than your actual problem.

So today my friends remember just because it’s from a doctor or just because it’s FDA-approved doesn’t mean it is right for you. Do your own research, we live in a world where research is at the tip of our fingers, literally. Don’t rely on a pill to fix everything, sometimes you must put in the work, sometimes you must change things yourself and yes, it may be harder but easier is not always the best way. Just ask the millions of people who became addicted to prescription medicine or had serious side effects from the medication they were told to take, or people who even died. We are not sheep, we do not have to follow the herd, we all have the ability to learn, make informed decisions, and like I say at the end of every blog to be the change you want to see.
