15 Mar Prince Harry and the Royal family
Prince Harry and the Royal family
Growing up in the United States, every little girl’s dream was to find her Prince charming to marry a prince.
We were all glued to the TV looking at all the royal weddings wishing that was us. If only we could marry a Prince.
It’s not until you get older and you realize what these families go through that you’re happy that you didn’t marry into the Royal family.
I, of course, was like many other people waking up at 3:00 in the morning to watch Princess Diane marry Prince Charles. I also watched the marriage of William and Kate, and I was definitely glued to the TV when Prince Harry married Megan, a mixed American woman who was also a TV star.
We watched as the press tore her down and made her into some kind of demon because she was an American, she was a black woman and the fact that she was an actress. When really all she was was in love.
It was sad to see these two people who truly loved each other have to go through all of this.
What was even sadder was that the Royal family didn’t stand up and protect this poor woman, never mind what they did to one of their own, they did nothing to protect him.
When things got so out of control with the press, Harry decided he didn’t want to end up like his mother. He had to do something to protect his family and so he tried to make a plan with the Royal family to still be part of the Royal family but yet out of the never ending spotlight and the cruelty of the press. His family didn’t want to go along with it, and he even went so far as to stop paying for his protection. He decided then that he had to do what was best for him and his family.
He moved him and his family to the United States to start a new life without the protection of the Royal family or the Royal family’s money. He was determined to do it on his own and do what was best for his family. He has now written a book about his life and has been telling his story, a story that none of us realized as we were wishing to live in a castle with a Prince.
Things are not as they always seem to be. We all look at other people’s lives and say we wish they had their lives, but none of us knows what goes on behind closed doors. To constantly be in the spotlight, to constantly be chased by paparazzi, to constantly be put down in newspapers all across the world is something I would never want. That is too much pressure for anybody, and unfortunately, that is what happened to Princess Diana.
I applaud this couple. I especially applaud Prince Harry for giving it all up for the woman he loves and the protection of his family.
Whether or not he was a real Prince, this is what a real Prince of a man does.
And that my friends is the kind of man we are all looking for.

Walking on fire
6 years ago today I walked on fire. Yes, you read that right, I literally walked on burning hot coals for 10 feet.
It all started because I was in a horrible place in my life, in a verbally abusive marriage and having no self-esteem at all.
I watched Oprah every day while the kids napped and I wanted to be like her. She overcame so much, she was fearless. So whatever she did I wanted to do, when she did a marathon I did one, when she started a gratitude journey I did, when she started meditating I started. I wanted to become fearless like her.
But the top of the cake was when she walked on fire with Tony Robbins. I wanted to do that. No, I needed to do that. But at that time I was stuck, so I put it on my vision board and every day for 7 years I would look at it, saying one day.
When I finally found the courage to leave my marriage I couldn’t justify spending that kind of money now as a single mom and honestly, I didn’t have it even if I wanted to.
One day while I was talking to a client about my vision board, she said she had done it and how it was life-changing. Now I was more determined than ever to find a way. Well…I didn’t have to wait long because the following week she called and blessed me with a ticket! 7 years later, holding on to this dream, all the faith I had and here I was being given this ticket! But God!
This was huge for me not only because of my faith in my vision board but now I was ready. I was divorced, I had my own home, I had started a business, and I was taking care of my girls.
I was strong now and this was the icing on the cake.
If I could walk through fire then I could walk on it!
And yes, it was life-changing. I did not doubt that I could do it, I knew I could do it. All that I went through in my life gave me the strength to do this. This was the pinnacle of survivorship. If I could do this I could do anything!
So today my friends, my message here is that you too can do anything. Use your trials and hardships as your springboard to overcome anything life has to throw at you. Set your goals and dreams high, and don’t worry about how you will get there, just believe that it will happen, and trust me you will. If you have walked through fire, you can walk on that shit too!
