Crying at their grave

Crying at their grave

As I sat through yet another funeral, my thoughts turned to life. Why is it that we are so busy in our lives to take the time out to spend time with loved ones? Why do we let disagreements tear us apart? But when someone gets called back home, we all come together, and we suddenly have time then.

Life is too short. We never know when our time is up and when God will call us home. They say you make time for what is important to you, yet you’re too busy to reach out to a friend or check on a family member.
I speak all the time about leaving the dishes or my dirty house when a friend or family reaches out to me to get together. These things will still be there long after I am dead, but making memories right now, at this moment, will only come once.

Don’t miss the moment, don’t say tomorrow, or next week because sometimes we don’t have that time. I never want to live with regrets, I don’t want I should haves, I wish I would haves.
I want the people in my life to know how important they are to me now.

I don’t want my girls to think a date with a man is more important than spending time with them. I tell my friends and family I love them all the time. I call, I visit, and I make time for what is truly important in my life.

So today my friends, remember tomorrow is not always promised. If covid taught us anything, it’s that life can change on a dime. You can be here today and gone tomorrow, just like that.
So take the time now, don’t wait until it’s too late and you’re crying at someone’s funeral about how much you loved them when you didn’t show it while they were alive.
