God’s people
We are all God’s people, we are all made in God’s image. So then why are we so hateful to one another? Why do some “religious” people think they are better than others?
It makes me laugh because it is obvious that they didn’t read the Bible, if they had they would have read that Jesus didn’t choose the religious, or the priests. He chose the bottom of the barrel. Thieves, liars, cheaters, and prostitutes, these are the people he chose.
He took them in, and he changed them, and then let them go and tell others about his goodness. Now he could have chosen the priests, the holy people but what good would that have done? Would that have taught us any lessons?
No, we needed to see others like us. We need to see people that are not perfect, people like us, who screw up, who make bad decisions, who are hard headed and need to hear the word over and over.
We need to see the change in them. We need to know if they could do this, then we can do this too. This gives us hope, hope to change, hope that change is possible.
Even Peter had to be told over and over, yet he clung on to his religious beliefs about what he thought it should be. He finally learned that God just wanted us to love one another. To let him know that he should not call any man unclean or common, that we are all God’s children.
See right there in the bible it says we are all God’s children, we are all the same. We are all not perfect but God loves us anyway. Read it, or reread it if you need to but it is in there so then why all the conflicts, the hatred, the racism?
We are not here to judge others, we are not here to think we are better than others, because we all bleed red, we all have faults, and we all fall short but God still loves us and forgives us.
So today my friends, we need to be bold enough to step out when God tells you to step out. He chose us for a reason. Let us all remember that none of us are perfect, none of us are without sin. We must remember that we are all made in God’s image and we are all God’s people.
